How to Enable and Use WhatsApp Integration in Signit?

Sends notifications via WhatsApp Business API—prerequisites: Phone Number ID, Business ID, Access Token from Meta Business Manager.

WhatsApp Integration enables organizations to send signature requests, reminders, and status updates directly to a signer’s WhatsApp number. This method significantly improves response times by reaching signers on their preferred communication channel. You can choose between using Signit’s default business account or connecting your own custom WhatsApp Business account.

Step 1: Access Integration Settings

Navigate to "Organization settings" > "Integrations" and locate the "Custom business WhatsApp" card.

Step 2: Choose Account Type

Click "Activate" to configure the service:
- Custom Business Account Connect your own WhatsApp Business API (via providers like Facebook/Meta) to send messages from your organization’s branded number.

Step 3: Configure Custom Account (Optional)

Enter your API credentials:
- Phone number ID
- WhatsApp Business ID
- Access Token
Click "Next" to test the connection and "Activate" to save.

Step 4: Create Message Templates in Meta

Crucial Requirement: To send messages via your custom WhatsApp Business account, you must create and approve specific message templates in your Meta (Facebook) Business Manager.

1. Log in to your Meta Business Manager.
2. Navigate to the WhatsApp Manager > Message Templates.
3. Create templates for "Signature Request," "Reminder," and "OTP Verification" following Signit’s required parameter structure.
4. Submit them for Meta’s approval. Once approved, Signit can trigger these messages automatically.

Step 5: Send Request via WhatsApp

When creating a document, go to the "Add participants" step.
1.In the "Sending method" dropdown, select "WhatsApp".
2.Enter the participant’s name & mobile number (including country code).
The system will now deliver the signing link via a WhatsApp message.

Step 6: The Signer’s Experience

What the Signer Sees:
1. The signer receives a WhatsApp message from "Signit" (or your brand name).
2. The message contains a secure link to view and sign the document.
3. Clicking the link opens the document directly in their mobile browser, no app download required.

Important Notes:

  • Signit only connects with Meta for custom whats app integration, no connection to third party providers is applicable.

  • In order to send messages, templates should be implemented and approved on Meta side
