Sequential vs. parallel workflows

Understanding workflow types Signit allows you to define how documents are sent to participants by choosing between sequential and parallel workflows:

  1. Sequential Workflows:

    • The document is sent to participants one at a time, in the specified order.
    • Each participant must complete their action (e.g., sign, approve) before the next participant receives the document.
    • Use Case: Ideal for processes requiring hierarchical approvals, such as manager and director sign-offs.
  2. Parallel Workflows:

    • The document is sent to all participants simultaneously.
    • Participants can act on the document at the same time, independently of one another.
    • Use Case: Best for group approvals or signatures that don’t require a strict order.

Tip: Choose the workflow type based on the nature of your signing process and participants’ roles.
