Assigning roles to signers (signer, approver, viewer)

Defining participant roles Signit allows you to assign specific roles to participants to control how they interact with the document:

  1. Signer:

    • The participant is required to add their signature and/or fill in additional fields.
    • Examples: contract signatories or clients.
  2. Approver:

    • The participant reviews and approves the document without signing it. Approval actions are logged in the audit trail.
    • Examples: managers or legal advisors.
  3. Viewer:

    • The participant receives a copy of the document but cannot interact with it. Viewing activity is tracked in the audit trail.
    • Examples: team members or stakeholders.

How to assign roles:

  • While adding a participant, select their role from the dropdown menu in the Add Participants step.
  • Each role customizes the participant’s interaction with the document to fit their responsibilities.
