How to integrate custom Nafath provider
What is Custom Nafath Provider Used For?
The Custom Nafath Provider integration allows organizations to use their own Nafath account for verifying signer identities. This ensures a branded verification experience where signers confirm their identity using the official Nafath app, enhancing security and compliance.
Step 1: Access Integration Settings
Navigate to "Organization settings" > "Integrations" and click on the "Custom Nafath provider" card.
Step 2: Activate and Choose Provider
Click "Activate" and select your specific Nafath service provider (ELM or SDAIA). The configuration steps differ for each.
Step 3: Configure Provider Credentials
Option A: SDAIA Configuration
If you are using SDAIA as your provider, enter the specific API Key provided by SDAIA.
- API Key: Enter the secure key to establish the connection.
Click "Save" to complete the SDAIA setup.
Option B: ELM Configuration
If you are using ELM, you will need to enter multiple credentials for both App and Web channels:
- Nafath App - App ID & Key: Credentials for app-based verification flows.
- Nafath Web - App ID & Key: Credentials for web-based redirection flows.
Ensure all four fields are entered correctly before saving.
Step 4: Enabling Verification for Signers
When sending a document, you can choose how the signer verifies their identity in the "Add participants" step. There are two distinct methods:
Method 1: "Without National ID" (Standard Redirection)
Use case: You do not have the signer’s National ID beforehand.
1. Select "Without national ID" in the verification specs.
2. **The Journey:** The signer clicks the document link and is redirected to the official Nafath website.
3. They manually enter their National ID on the Nafath page.
4. Upon success, they are redirected back to Signit to sign.
Method 2: "With National ID" (Direct Number Matching)
Use case: You already know the signer’s National ID and want a smoother experience.
1. Select "With national ID" and enter their ID number in the field.
2. The Journey: The signer clicks the document link and **Signit immediately displays a 2-digit verification number on the screen.
3. The signer opens their Nafath app and selects the matching number.
4. Verification happens instantly without leaving the Signit interface or visiting the Nafath website.
Audit Trail
Regardless of the method used, the successful verification event, timestamp, and masked National ID are permanently logged in the document’s audit trail for legal compliance.
