# Understanding document statuses and what they mean

## Explanation of document lifecycle statuses Signit uses the following statuses to indicate the progress of a document:

1. **Waiting on others**:
   
     - The document is waiting for one or more participants to take action (e.g., signing or approving).
2. **Draft**:
   
     - The document has been created but not yet sent to participants.
3. **Completed**:
   
     - All required participants have signed the document, and it is finalized.
4. **Voided**:
   
     - The document has been canceled, and no further actions can be taken.
5. **Expired**:
   
     - The document’s expiration date has passed without being signed or completed.
6. **Declined**:
   
     - A participant has declined to sign the document, preventing further progress.
7. **Awaiting your action:**  
   The document needs to be signed or approved by you to be completed.

**Tip**: Use these statuses to identify the current state of your document and take necessary actions.
